Hospital Policies
+ As any emergency room the FRVEC operates on a modified "first come, first served" policy. Generally, you will be seen in the order you present to the hospital with the exception that patients determined critical by our trained staff will be triaged to the treatment area and draw the attention of the Veterinary team immediately upon arrival.
+ Please understand that due to the nature of our caseload, the need to have no distractions outside of patient care and insurance recommendations we do not allow owners to accompany their pets into the treatment area. You can be assured the staff at the FRVEC has been trained to handle you pet family member with the ultimate in compassion and care. As soon as the Veterinarian on staff has examined your pet you will be updated as to their condition. In the interim stabilization therapies will be instituted as deemed necessary.
+ As noted in the Hours section of this webpage please note during the week the FRVEC closes at 8:00AM. As such we cannot maintain patients in our hospital after this time. Consequently, it is the responsibility of each owner of hospitalized patients to plan on picking up their pet family member between 7:00AM and 7:30AM on these days. Based on condition for which your pet was hospitalized as well as their response to therapies we will discuss with you at discharge whether to transfer to your family veterinarian for continued case management or to home for continued recovery.
+ The FRVEC works closely with your family veterinarian to offer the best care for your pet. To this end we send to your family veterinarian full copies of all medical records, bloodwork results and ICU nursing charts so they are kept up to date about your pet's specific condition, therapies and clinical progression. If performed a CD containing copies of the digital image radiographs taken will be sent with you to present to your family veterinarian.
Payment Policy
The FRVEC requires full payment at the time services are rendered. We do NOT offer any billing or extended/delayed payment options. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Cash. The FRVEC does NOT accept personal or business checks!!
